Today, it is one of the most respected martial arts in the world and a cornerstone of modern mixed martial arts. At Lebre Jiu-Jitsu, we carry this tradition forward by training students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced competitors.

We believe in creating an environment where instructors and students work together to achieve goals, support each other, and grow both on and off the mats.

Known for his precise technique, pressure-based style, tactical intelligence, and decades of consistent competition at the highest levels, Regis has built a legacy that bridges the old-school essence of Jiu-Jitsu with modern technical evolution.
Born in Fortaleza, Brazil, Regis began training at a young age and rose quickly through the ranks. In 2001, the same year he earned his black belt, he moved to the United States. After spending several years in Philadelphia—where he established an academy, developed competitors, and promoted multiple black belts—he eventually relocated to San Diego, California, where he has lived for approximately sixteen years. In San Diego, Regis founded his academy, expanded his teaching worldwide, built his family, and continued refining a methodology that blends fundamentals, strategy, pressure, and mental strength.
Regis is recognized internationally not only as a world-class competitor, but also as a mentor who shapes athletes with discipline, humility, and excellence. His career reflects longevity, resilience, and mastery earned on the mats across more than two decades of elite competition.
